FRANKLIN LORENZ KERN Frank graduated from St.
Lorenz Lutheran School, Frankenmuth High School (2 years), Arthur Hill
High School and Michigan State University, where he obtained a business
degree in He worked for Second National Bank of Saginaw and Citizens Bank of Flint (after SNB was purchased by Citizens) for 43 years. He was their Auditor for over 25 years, then after the purchase by Citizens, became the Audit Director of the Northern Region of Banks. He then was responsible for developing a new position at Citizens, namely, Forensic Auditor for the Corporation. (A proactive approach to controlling fraud in the corporation). Frank enjoys music and has played in the Frankenmuth Concert Band with his father and uncle. He also enjoyed bowling for many years, having a high of 704 in the Mid-West Lutheran Bowling Tournament for first place in 1960. Frank also organized a bowling team (Nuechterlein Hardware), which placed 12th in the Michigan State Bowling Tournament. As the original members retired from bowling, the brothers Harry, Jim, and nephews, Steve, Dave, and Mike joined the team. Golf is another sport he enjoys, however needs improvement. All three brothers, Jim, Harry, and Frank have had “holes-in-one”, an uncommon event. Fishing for trout with his son Andy and brothers, and nephews is also enjoyed by him. Frank married Loretta Gehrke on 4/22/1962. Loretta is a retired teacher from St. Lorenz Lutheran School. They have two children, Andrew James and Sara Beth (Miller) .
