Terry, Nick and I hit a private pond shortly after Christmas.

The fishing was extremely slow, we caught about three fish each.

Nick counted 40 holes that we drilled on this day.

Nick and his friend Rob back-packed for an over-nighter on the Chattooga River on Jan. 2. They roasted Mich. rabbit for dinner.

The days were extremely cold for Georgia, with temps in the low 20's and strong winds. It made for a cold night in a tent.

Rob displays a rainbow. See the Fishing Reports for the story.

The cold weather made the fishing difficult, but several fish were landed. This one on a #18 lightning bug.

Buck, Joe, Sam, Josh and I decided to make an afternoon trip to Caseville for lakers on 1/3.

The temps were at 19 deg, with a strong NWLY wind. It was no day for the timid.

Mike checks his bait. We used jigs tipped with minnows. In the shanty to the rear there were two lakers on the ice.

The only way we could fish was with the wind to our back.

Mike and Josh with the setting sun. Josh and I were the first out and last in on this cold day.

Who is that masked man in the background? Sam looked like the Masked Marvel.

Joe kindly made a coffee run, but he might have chosen a better looking waiter.

Joe claims he was the wisest fisherman, as he decided not to venture from the comfort of the van. I'd only agree that he was the warmest fisherman.

Grandson Ty catches his first trout...Ty is way ahead of Grandpa this year!

The boys visited Grandpa & Grandma Biggart at the Tawas Perch Festival this weekend. Everyone admires Ty's fish.

Nick and friends have been trout fishing this winter in the south. This was an evening's dinner.

From Fashionable Peach to Hot Pink, eh?

Eric displays a couple of nice keepers.

Dan with a very nice rainbow.

On President's Day, certain government employees had the day off. Sam and I decided to try Mud Creek.

Sam really got into the ice fishing. This is our poor man's ice shanty.

Sam is trying to out-do his brother Frank for the "Smallest Perch Ever" record. He may be the leader.

This was as good as it got. Sam outfished me 2 to 1.

Dave Johnson lost his stringer with one 'eye on it. Here is a picture of Dave "fishing for his stringer. Brother Dan hooked and retrived it later.

On the weekend of the 20th Al Herek (here) and Dave and Dan Johnson hit the bay - 6 miles out.

Dan jigs for 'eyes in about 22 ft. of water. Dan caught a couple on this weekend.

Dave caught this 7 pounder. Nice fish!

On 2/28 went to the Saginaw River with Terry, Bob and Romiro. Each caught two keepers, I sucked and caught no keepers.

Bob caught the largest walleye of the day. The hits were extremely light, and all were caught on Rapala jigs.

Ken Selzer emailed this picture of "Cecil", caught on GA's Soque River this month. This monster was 28" and about 8 lbs.

Dave Johnson caught this 29 inch walleye at the mouth of the Saginaw River on Good Friday. Lead head jig and minnow were the winning combo.
