Over New Year's break Nick and Andrea traveled to the Watauga River in Tenn. Nick and friend Cathy wade the river.

A picture of Nick and fishing friend Cathy on the Watauga. A house on the river was rented for the weekend.

Sam & I fished at Mud Creek on 1/3/09. See 2009 Fishing Report

We walked about 1/4 mile from shore, far short of the pack (about 1+ miles out).

I set up my Christmas present from Nick & AJ - the Automatic Fisherman.

According to those walking back from the pack, we did significantly better than most. Sam littered the ice with yellowbellies.

On 3/21 Sam, Sammy, Marty Buck & I took a pre-Tour trip to the Thumb.

Our first stop was Grindstone, which did not yield a fish.

She was a cold one. Although the air temp was approaching 40, the wind was biting.

Sam watched as Marty & Sammy threw cleos.

In Port Austin, Buck fished for "Rakers".

The 2009 Tour D'Thumb began with breakfast at the Lamplighter in Sebewaing.

Frank drove his motor home, as the boys discuss "if its worth the effort"

This picture illustrates the cold and the wind on this Good Friday.

The day was extremely cold and windy. Doug, Sam & Nick find protection from the wind behind the breakwall.

Old Farts!

Dave and Dan Johnson hit the bay near AuGres on 4/18. Dave holds a nice 'eye for a picture.

Dan landed a nice steelhead while fishing for walleye.

Sam & I took the girls to dinner on 4/25. We just happened to have the fishing gear packed. It was Grindstone after dinner.

The desired species were not in the harbor. This sheephead was the catch of the day. The temp. was 45 with strong winds and rain.

Nick and I fished Georgia's Seque River on 5/2. We were the guests of Ken Selzer.

The Seque is a beautiful NE Georgia mountain river that hold large rainbow trout. Ken was not only our guide, but also our photographer.

A large rainbow that struck a wooley bugger.

Another healthy Seque rainbow.

Nick's picture is captured as he sets the hook.

Nick and a 3 lb. rainbow. He caught this fish with a dry fly.

This run produced several fish for Nick.

Pictured here I am fighting a large fish. The trout were very aggresive and fought well.

The kid knows how to fish.

The flowers and wildflowers were blooming. The river is beautiful in its natural state, but when the flowers bloom, its the Augusta of trout streams.
