On the April 19 weekend we took a trip to Licavoli Lodge in search of spring steelheads. Tom & Sam cooked a great breakfast

Dom and Sammy at the Oqueoc Falls. No steelies were upstream at this date.

Dom fished a hole on the "secret river". No fish were spotted in rivers the entire weekend. The river water temp. was 37 degrees.

Sam checked out a map, searching in vain for a likely spot.

We even went underground to check out promising locations. Who is on the trespass side?

In Rogers City. A couple of fish were hooked in the evening throwing Cleos.

Joe and Dale drove up Saturday and joined in a steak fry.

We ate well on this weekend.

Tommy did land a sucker while surf fishing. We hooked a couple of trout, but landed none.

Someone had to be the first to fish in Vince's Pond. Besides, it gave me a chance to break in my Christmas gift.

On the way home, Tommy, Dom & Sammy detoured to Grindstone for trout, but instead they caught some huge smallmouths.

Dave & Dan landed these beauties - all over 22" on Saturday. Rappala's, Bombers and crawler harness did the trick.

On the evening of 4/23 we Sam, Lu, Rhonda & I took a drive to the "Stone".

We were targeting steelhead, but the smallmouth's were hitting.

This picture caught a fish in mid-jump.

Elishia hook three smallies immediately.

A very nice smallmouth caught and released by Sam.

We enjoyed a meal at Big Boy in Bad Axe after fishing.

"Old Farts"

On 4/26 Keith Perior, Keith's friend Troy, Sam and I hit the Flint River for walleye.

The only 'eye caught on this day was this 18" 'er by Keith.

Sam caught a Betsie River steelhead on 4/26. Sure would be interesting to hear about this trip.

Brian Pennington and fishing partner Jeff Zeek fished in a Lake Erie walleye tournament on the weekend of April 25.

Brian & Jeff display a huge walleye. Brian boated fish that exceeded 5 lbs., including this 12 lb 12 oz. wall-hanger.

Quite a day's limit.

Millington's best fisherman strikes again. Limits like this on the week of 5/5. Q-see, 10-12 fow, crawler harnesses, Rappala's. Nice catch Richard

Nick and friends traveled to Sara's Creek Campground. Friend Cathy caught her first trout.

The girls sit on the rocks and watch the fishermen. This was their first coed camping/fishing trip. AJ didn't volunteer to clean the fish.

Dave Johnson caught this 16 lb. catfish on the Bay on 5/16 while walleye fishing. Dave & Dan did well on the 'eyes, fishing out of Hoyles in 15-20'
