Montana! Mike begins casting on the Missouri.

A view from the river just below Holter Lake.

Mike poses on the first evening of fishing.

My first fish, caught below Holter Dam. These rainbows fought like steelhead's.

It's offical. This is a black bear. Confirmed by the Montana Fish and Game biologists.

This is a view from the deck of the cabin in which we stayed.

Nick and Sammy floated on tubes from the bridge to a gravel bar. They then fished both sides of the bar.

Sammy casts from the gravel bar.

Nick casts from the gravel bar. This was Nick and Sammy's favorite spot to fish (with the exception of Yellowstone).

Nick and a nice rainbow. These fish fought extremely hard and made long runs when hooked.

Sammy nets Nick's fish at dusk.

The crew eats dinner after an evening fish.

Nick tubes downstream to his fishing site.

A view from the bank. Sammy and Nick fished in front of the black train tressel in the background.

Horses were drinking in the Missouri just below the bridge.

A view of the bridge. Holter Dam was about 2 miles upsteam, Sammy and Nick fished about 1 mile downstream.l

Mike battles a rainbow.

...and lands the fish.

The crew....Dave, Sammy, Keith, Nick, Terry and Mike.

We took a day trip to the Blackfoot River, made famous by the movie "A River Runs Through It".

Mike fishes below a large cliff.

The Blackfoot had a beautiful stone/rock stream bed.

Sam enjoyed fishing the Blackfoot River.

The aqua colored water was a deep run near the bank. Swallows built mud nests on the cliff sides.

Back at the Missouri, Keith displays a nice rainbow. Most fish were in the 17" to 20" range.

This Rainbow Trout was a typical size fish that we caught.

A satillite view of the strech that we fished from the cabin to Holter Lake.

Terry and a fine rainbow

Keith displays a large rainbow. These fish almost always went to the air when hooked.

Our accomodations were outstanding.
